- Close the game and Steam. Copy %APPDATA%\SlayTheSpire2 elsewhere and retain that backup unchanged.

- Record removed mods and versions. Check whether the affected run began with them enabled.

Restore the dependency
- If the original trusted mod versions still match the game, restore that combination and test the run. Otherwise use a separate test without continuing that run.

Choose targeted recovery
- If only the old run fails, follow the official removed-mod instructions or contact Mega Crit with your backup and findings. Its Cloud deletion steps affect data and are not a blanket first test.
