Stop the server

  1. Shut it down cleanly and back up the entire existing save folder.

Inspect arguments

  1. Compare -world and -savedir in the startup file with the intended world and its location.

Verify the world

  1. Start with the corrected path and inspect a familiar location. Keep the previously loaded world separately.

Frequently asked questions

Does an empty world mean the old one was deleted?
