How to play WARDOGS with friends on the same squad

Joining together starts with the server and then the squad. The game version described here does not have a pre-match party lobby with a shared queue.

Join together through Steam

  1. One person joins a server and waits in the match.
  2. Everyone else right-clicks their name in the Steam friends list and chooses “Join Game”. A player already in the match can use “Invite To Game”.

Alternatively share the current server ID

  1. Choose a server with room and share the current ID shown in its browser entry.
  2. Everyone uses “Join by ID” with exactly that ID. Do not rely on a fixed ID length or old saved IDs.

Choose the same faction

  1. Agree on Lonestar, Valkyra or Manticore before joining.
  2. Each player chooses individually. If the faction is full, wait for a slot or move servers together.

Create the squad in the match

  1. Press Esc and choose “Create Squad” at the top right. Share the automatically assigned squad name.
  2. Others join from the same menu. Lock the squad only after everyone is in.

Work around full servers and squads

  1. A full server can block Steam joining. Move together to a quieter server.
  2. If only the squad is full, create a second one. Use the separate login fix for “Access denied”.

Frequently asked questions

Why are we on the same server but different teams?

Each player chooses their own faction. Joining the same server does not automatically select the same faction or squad.
