Resident Evil Requiem: check old compatibility settings

Open the real executable

  1. Use Steam → Manage → Browse local files. Open re9.exe properties and capture the Compatibility tab.

Remove the old mode

  1. If an older Windows compatibility mode is enabled, disable only that switch. Leave other options unchanged initially.

Check Steam separately

  1. Test launching. If it still fails, inspect the Steam.exe actually used and disable its compatibility mode for a second test if enabled.

Compare outcomes

  1. Record which change helped. If both were already off, return to startup diagnosis instead of toggling unrelated options.
