WARDOGS: silent USB headset and Device Manager Code 10

01

Test outside the game

  1. Close WARDOGS and play a Windows test sound. Inspect the affected audio device in Device Manager.
  2. Record the exact device status, model and Windows update history.
02

Compare another output

  1. Try an existing alternative output, such as monitor speakers or an analogue connection.
  2. Select that output in game as well. If it works, leave the affected USB device unused for now.
03

Track the correction

  1. The checked Microsoft notice does not provide a completed fix. Check it for status changes and consult your device manufacturer.
  2. Do not remove Windows packages solely because game audio is missing. If Windows audio works, investigate game output and voice chat instead.

Frequently asked questions

Does this affect every DAC?

No. The device class and symptoms must match; Code 10 alone does not establish the cause.
